A Celebration of Achievements: A Look Back at Global Indonesia School’s 2026 Commencement Ceremony

Global Indonesia School once again made history by hosting the 2026 Commencement Ceremony, a graduation celebration marking the end of the educational journey for students in Junior High School (SMP) and Senior High School (SMA). Held with solemnity and pride, this event was not merely a farewell ceremony but a tribute to the students’ hard work, dedication, and perseverance throughout their educational journey.

An atmosphere of emotion and joy was palpable from the very start of the opening procession. Ninth- and twelfth-grade students entered the hall with confident strides, greeted by enthusiastic applause from parents, teachers, and all invited guests. The procession symbolized the long journey they had undertaken, finally reaching the finish line of their school years.

In his remarks, the Principal of Global Indonesia School, Mr. Ivan Seneviratne, expressed deep appreciation to all graduates for the perseverance and enthusiasm they had demonstrated throughout their education. He also extended his gratitude to the teachers who patiently guided the students and to the Global Indonesia Success Foundation for its continued support of educational development at the school.

A message of support was also delivered by Mr. Kevin Suhori, the foundation’s director. In his remarks, he encouraged the students to always dare to dream big, maintain their passion for learning, and not be afraid to face the various challenges they will encounter in the future.

One of the most memorable moments of the event was the reading of the graduation announcement and the presentation of awards to high-achieving students. The awards were given as a token of appreciation for the students’ dedication and outstanding academic achievements during their time at Global Indonesia School.

The title of valedictorian was also bestowed upon the top students who demonstrated academic excellence. For the Senior High School level, the award was presented to Alvino Teovilus, who embodies hard work, discipline, and a never-give-up spirit in achieving success.

The sense of camaraderie that has been fostered over the years was further reinforced through the Alumni Pledge ceremony, led by Kevin Pratama Tienus. With great sincerity, the graduates pledged to continue upholding the values of integrity, maintaining the good name of their alma mater, and making positive contributions to the communities where they live.

The emotional atmosphere grew even more palpable when student representatives Karisa Citra Kalista and Alvino Teovilus delivered their farewell messages. They reflected on the various experiences they had shared—from academic challenges and the friendships they had formed to the support of their teachers, who played a vital role in their journey. Their expressions of gratitude and hopes for a better future moved the audience to tears.

Parent representatives also expressed their appreciation to the entire faculty and school staff. They thanked them for the dedication, care, and guidance provided to their children, enabling them to successfully complete their education.

Not only was the 2026 Commencement Ceremony rich in meaning, but it was also enlivened by a variety of captivating artistic performances. A traditional Nuswantara dance performance showcased the richness of Indonesian culture on stage, while a contemporary music performance by the students demonstrated the creativity and talent they had developed throughout their education.

Toward the end of the event, all attendees were invited to bow their heads in a moment of silent prayer as an expression of gratitude for the guidance and achievements attained. A group photo session then served as the perfect finale—capturing the smiles, hugs, and beautiful memories that every graduate will cherish forever.
